ME - WHY AM I DOING THIS
I am Autistic and was diagnosed two years ago by three psychiatrists and two psychologists. Also I have ADHD and so we call it AuDHD.
I have created this website for two reasons:
1) I needed help and don't know how to bring it up
2) I am inspired by the people who help me and wish to help other autistic adults

1) i need help
Autism is difficult for everyone - it does not choose race, colour or gender, rich or poor.
SHAME, STIGMA as well as MISINFORMATION about Autism has meant that I was in a dangerous situation where I did not have anywhere to live, no people to ask for help - I felt that I was an outcast from humanity.
HOWEVER I am also aware that this is because of my limited experience of living with a disability, and there are ways to survive.
Firstly to ASK for help. Because two of the core disabilities with Autism are communication and social interaction, this is a really difficult step.
And so I did what any Autistic Webmaster from the 90's would...I made this site.

Now that I have had the time to setup the machines and update the site, I am super happy to confirm stage one is complete and now we are moving to REGROW and THRIVE

I realise that Autism is a lifelong struggle and I will use this life make the world a kinder place for Adult Autists (or even AuDHDers) like me.
I am fortunate to have a cohort of neurodiverse talent around mea. With them I wish to lead and collaborate with more neurodiverse souls so that we can have a life we can enjoy.
To achieve this, I am converting the Futures Factory to focus on this purpose as well as my artist sales and creativity. Years, knowledge, support, inspiration and understanding from a lived experience on both sides of disability have provided unique insights which I will combine with creativity and leadership to provide tangible help and understanding for Autistic Adults.
To start I think it is about information and education.
WHAT I NEED HELP WITH:
- awareness - I setup an 'Autism Information Desk' at Bondi Beach, but had nowhere to live and so will regroup once I am settled and am actively looking for a new window to showcase myself.
> Let me know if you have anywhere that has a high amount of people walking past and where people can come and have a chat to learn and start to understand autism from an autist
- fundraising - I wish to ensure all participants are paid for their time, our challenge is hard enough without additional financial burdens.
> The fundraising goals are listed below, but rather than a gift, I am selling my art and/or time to make it happen.

The ultimate goal is to change the narrative for Autistic Adults so that we can feel included, loved and understood. Allow us to contribute to this rich tapestry of life with our vibrant colours and overwhelmed souls. However the immediate issue in Australia right now (2024) is the life expectancy of Autistic Adults, and so here is where we will start.
When not creating, my time be used on reducing Adult Autism suicide from 900% the national average.
